A late-night session on March 22 crystallized the Binary Ranch thesis. The Parler incident became the founding example. AWS shut Parler down on political pressure in January 2021 and destroyed the most complete archive of what actually happened on January 6. Evidence gone because infrastructure wasn't sovereign. That's the concrete case for owning your infrastructure. If someone else can pull the plug, they own your history.
The blood-brain barrier metaphor came out of this session. Permeability without vulnerability. The system lets things in and out, but it doesn't get infected. The ranch has fences to keep the herd safe, not to trap them. That became the architectural principle.
By March 24, the authenticity principle was set. Drop the AI costuming. No campy aesthetic. No "look at our AI" performative branding. Lead with what the work actually is. The roadmap and pitch deck must go through an authenticity pass before they ship. Strip any language that performs innovation rather than demonstrating it.
The rest of March was building. The session launch infrastructure. Tools to cure the amnesia at session start so the agent picks up where things left off without asking. The vault structure taking shape. The T-Mobile situation was happening in parallel, which reinforced the core argument: when a company can lock your phones and call the police on you for asking about your own account, you don't own your digital life. Totally self-reliant digital. That's the goal.
